Do not take aspirin for two weeks before surgery. It may increase the risk of bleeding. Remember, many over-the-counter medicines contain aspirin. So, check the label carefully. Other medicines that may increase your risk of bleeding include vitamin E and antihistamines. Many cold remedies contain antihistamines.
